Description of work:

  • Remove and replace sections of concrete curb and sidewalk
  • Full depth reconstruction of Bowers Court including full length curb replacement
  • Adjust existing catch basins and maintenance holes
  • Remove and replace asphalt roadway surface
  • Driveway, topsoil and sod restoration, as required

During the curb and sidewalk repair work, access may be restricted if the curb is to be replaced at the bottom of your driveway or if a sidewalk bay(s) is to be replaced in front of your property. The resident will be notified a day in advance of such an event to allow for alternate parking arrangements.

During the road resurfacing & reconstruction work, access will be maintained to all residences however delays are to be expected. Traffic control in terms of flagging and signage will be in place for the safety of pedestrians and vehicles through the construction area. As this is a continuous operation, please ensure that vehicles are not parked on the road during construction hours. During paving operations, parked vehicles may be towed so as not to delay construction progress.

The Town will allow on-street parking on adjacent streets until the work is complete. The 3-hour parking limit and overnight parking provision will not be enforced. However, all other provisions of the By-law will be, (i.e. no parking within 3 metres of a fire hydrant, within 10 metres of an intersection, etc.)

In the event utilities are impacted during the construction work, we ask that the resident contacts their service provider (Bell, Rogers) and coordinate the repair for a timely resolution, at no cost to the resident.

In the event major deliveries have been pre-scheduled, please inform the project contact ahead of time, and the Town will do its utmost to accommodate.

The Town of Ajax realizes that the construction work will be disruptive. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience during this time and we will make every effort to complete the construction work as quickly as possible.
